The Black Bull Inn in Frosterley

The Black Bull in Frosterley is a fantastic pub and also happens to be our local. It is a 2 minute walk from Lyncroft Cottage and many walkers, tourists and residents of County Durham travel to Frosterley just to experience a few evenings at this inn.

It’s not my job to rave about someone else’s business, but Duncan and his wife have created a little haven, in my opinion. The pub is fiercely independent and serves primarily real ales, cider and perry. The menu is simple but superbly cooked and the portions are generous. The ambience is just fab: coal fires, antique furniture, stone-flagged floors, and a piano that is regularly played by guests.
