The Weardale Way

This walk is up to 77 miles in length running through the “Land of the Prince Bishops”.

The Weardale Way follows the Wear River from its mouth at Sunderland to close to its source in the North Pennines at Killhope. The walk provides an insight into the industrial heritage of County Durham and offers a wonderful introduction to the unspoiled countryside of the Weardale, which is part of the designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The Weardale Way is only 10 minutes on foot from Lyncroft Cottage and it links up with various other footpaths offering interesting and picturesque walks throughout the dale. For more detailed information please click here.
